We are pleased to share that our team member – Antoni Ivanov participated in the OpenAirInterface Workshop “Open Source in the Times of AI-Native Networks” in Porto, Portugal, with participation supported by the ENCORE6G project.

The workshop brought together academic and industry experts to discuss current developments in open-source technologies for next-generation wireless networks, including Software-Defined Radio platforms, O-RAN, AI-native network management, Digital Twins, and Non-Terrestrial Networks.
Key topics highlighted during the event included the continuing importance of optimization for network orchestration, the growing role of SDR-based prototyping within Digital Twin environments, and ongoing research into cognitive radio and 5G operation in unlicensed spectrum.
The demonstrations of Digital Twins for mobile networks and O-RAN applications provided valuable insight into how open-source platforms can support the development and validation of future 5G and 6G technologies.
We are glad that ENCORE6G supports participation in events that foster knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovation in the European wireless communications research community.
